AZURITE, DUFTITE, MALACHITE

A very aesthetic specimen of azurite, formed by several well-defined prismatic crystals with diverging in a star-shaped growth. The color is very intense, and when light strikes the piece, the marvelous cobalt blue of this copper carbonate is clearly visible. In several areas of the azurite crystals, the transformation to malachite is evident. It is accompanied by crusts formed by tiny duftite crystals. It comes from the Toussit mines, once a world-renowned mining area for this mineral.
