GYPSUN WITH SULFUR

The Racalmuto sulphur mines, in the area between Caltanissetta and Agrigento, are known for the associations of sulfur with celestine, aragonite and/or gypsum. This specimen shows a parallel aggregate of gypsum crystals, with a remarkable transparence, which allow us to see the sulphur inclusions. A historical specimen from the Claramonte collection.
