CARROLLITE, CALCITE, CHALCOPYRITE

The carrollite specimens from Kamoya, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, are considered classics in world mineralogy. In this specimen, a prominent crystal of excellent size stands out, exhibiting polysynthetic growth patterns on its faces and displaying exceptional metallic lustre. The crystal is embedded in a calcite matrix accompanied by chalcopyrite, forming a well-balanced and mineralogically characteristic assemblage.
